Anti-spam strategy

fair-fish-database.net does not tolerate unsolicited commercial e-mails (spam). We do not send e-mails to anyone without their permission, and we do not sell or rent e-mail addresses to third parties. This does not mean that we can prevent spam on the Internet.

If you believe that you have received an unsolicited e-mail from us, please contact the relevant complaint address below.

Cookies

The use of cookies enables individual service providers on the Internet to identify different users and establish usage patterns on a website. This also makes it possible to determine the interests of the user identified by the cookie.

Only session cookies are used by fair-fish-database.net (e.g. to prevent cross-site request forgery), which are technically necessary for the operation of the website. There are no third party cookies on fair-fish-database.net that, for example, would track users’ behaviour across multiple websites.

Use of web analytics services

fair-fish-database.net uses an own analytics service. All session data (e.g. IP, browser ID and page access) remains on our servers. In addition, IP addresses are stored encrypted and cannot be assigned to any individual. All personal session data on the website and on the server is deleted after two weeks at the latest. Exceptions are only made in the case of inappropriate behavior.

Disclosure

Your data is used exclusively to fulfill the mission of the associations fair-fish.
In order to be able to provide our services, however, we may disclose your data in the following cases:

  • to service providers whom we have contracted to support our business activities. They are obliged to treat the data as confidential and to use it only for the services provided to us
  • owing to legal obligations, to prevent misuse, for the purpose of personal security or to protect the public.

Hosting

The protection of your data is important to us. We store, process and secure your data on servers which are maintained exclusively by a company located in Germany (see below), and which is protected by physical and technical security measures. This includes, for example, enhanced firewall protection, physical access controls for buildings and files.

We use the following hoster:
netcup GmbH
Daimlerstr. 25
76185 Karlsruhe

The personal data collected on this website is stored on the servers of the hoster. Our hoster will only process your data to the extent that this is necessary to fulfill its performance obligations and follow our instructions with regard to this data. We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) for the use of the above-mentioned service. This is a contract prescribed by data protection law, which ensures that the hoster processes the personal data of our website visitors only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.

Web security

fair-fish-database.net uses AbuseIPDB as a web security service. AbuseIPDB is a project dedicated to helping combat the spread of hackers, spammers, and abusive activity on the internet. Their mission is to help make the web safer by providing a central blacklist for webmasters, system administrators, and other interested parties to find and report IP addresses that have been associated with malicious activity.

Transparency notice: fair-fish-database.net not only bans any IP address in the case of inappropriate behavior (like hacking/brute-force attacks, spam, DDoS attacks, and port scanning) but also reports these IP addresses to AbusIPDB without prior confirmation.
